He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Quality in 1986 from Colorado State University. He worked as post-doctoral fellow from 1986-1990 at Department of Geology and Geophysics, University of Wyoming (UW). He worked as a Research Scientist at UW Water Research Center from 1990-2000. In 2000 Dr. Reddy joined the Department of Ecosystem Science and Management as an assistant professor and was promoted to full professor in 2005. From 2000-2010 he served as a Director for UW campus-wide Water Resources Interdisciplinary Graduate Degree Program. He also served as a Deputy Director for UW School of Energy Resources from 2008-2010. Professor Reddy is world-renowned scientist for his pioneering work on mineralization of anthropogenic flue gas CO2, filtration of toxic arsenic species from water, and geochemistry and beneficial uses of coalbed natural gas (CBNG) produced water. His high impact research programs have spread beyond the scientific community to be featured in a variety of high visibility news and print media from local to global levels. He has given several invited presentations at international conferences and workshops held in nineteen different countries. He holds 10 patents [4 US and 6 international: Australia (2), Japan (1), Mexico (1), New Zealand (1), and Philippines (1)].
