Biography

Evans Clifton Coutinho is the Professor and Head - Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bombay College of Pharmacy, India.He completed his Ph. D. (Tech.) Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from UDCT (ICT) in the year 1989.He has been teaching organic chemistry and allied subjects to the undergraduate and post-graduate students at the Bombay College of Pharmacy since 1986.He is a renowned scientist and teacher in pharmacy education and has been teaching at Bombay College of Pharmacy for more than two decades and as visiting faculty at several well known organizations. His interest lies in the area of NMR of peptides, strategic design of anti infective agents using computer assisted tools for drug design.He heads Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and the molecular modeling and drug design group at the Bombay College of Pharmacy. More than 30 graduates have completed M. Pharm. and 13 have completed Ph. D. (Tech.) under his guidance and supervision. He has published extensively with more than 140 publications in peer reviewed high impact factor journals.
